Hello!

As mentioned in the last set of (proper) Patch Notes, the next update would be the big one. Well, here it is! Just ignore those Hotfix ones btw.

Anyway, let’s get right into it.

Dating

First and foremost, dates have arrived on the island.

Go meet with Prinny (who is making her main game debut) and she’ll tell you all about it.

These dates are going to be a mainstay feature of the game moving forward, with many more planned, and another already in development for release with the next update.

Get to know your favorite girls, and enjoy the most quality time you’ve gotten with them so far.

Dates contain a lot of written dialogue and character specific animations, as well as a good number of new voicelines to let their personalities shine.

There’s also some new lewd content (with special content for those who wish to keep things tame.)

Currently, there is only one date available (with Sammy), but more are on their way!

Store

If you’re going to date a lady, you’re going to have to learn how to treat her right.

With this in mind, welcome to the Store!

Using tokens that you can find in the Nightclub and Security Office, you can try your luck to secure the gifts that your girls have been waiting for.

This system is still being worked on, so you can’t go full Casanova just yet. However, there’s nothing wrong with amassing a little pile of goodies for your favorites.

Oh, and please don’t make fun of me being poor.

Gallery

You’ve been pestering us for it, and here it finally is!

A new gallery has been added, featuring all the animations you know and love, as well as a neat new free-cam that lets you get right where you want to be in the action.

But, if you want to see everything, you’ll have to play everything, so be sure to get through the Nightclub and Security Office to unlock all of the animations!

This is a new style of gallery than what we’ve done before, but we’re very happy with it, and hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.

Just don’t hold it against us if you fly right up a character’s nose and they look funny.

The old media gallery still exists, so don’t worry about missing out on all of those animations either, it’s just tucked safely away in the extras menu.

Which leads us into…

Title Screen

Our VCR went to the repair shop and never came back, so welcome to the new title screen and menus for IN HEAT: Lustful Nights!

Due to the sheer number of new systems and menus added in this update, we found it a bit hard getting everything integrated into the old title screen without just throwing everything on the monitor. Therefore we decided to rebuild it from the ground up with ample space should we ever require even more menus!

With new music, new options, and a significant increase in Sammy eye contact, we hope you’ll find this menu to be a bit more responsive than before.

Lighting

Everyone loves lights, and we’re experimenting with some new ones 😎

The game now relies far less on realtime lighting, opting for baked lighting instead. Even Unity was telling us that we were overdoing it before so here we are.

This should generally improve performance and overall just provide more consistent visuals. We’re still testing things out and tweaking some areas, so expect adjustments and even better-looking scenes in the future!

Save Upgrade

Bad news time! Can’t only have good ones :(

Due to various new systems tracking player progress being added, the savestate of every game will need to be upgraded. Aaaaand this includes a progress reset.

This should however be the first and last time we have to do something like this, so that’s good news I guess?

Just to make sure people are aware of this change there’ll be a big spooky disclaimer warning you that your save data will be reset, in case you want to save it beforehand.

Here’s some top secret information for those actually reading this. You can find the savestate under one of the following:

• Windows: %userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\MonsterBox\IN HEAT
• Linux: ~/.config/unity3d/MonsterBox/IN HEAT
• Mac: MacAppSupport\MonsterBox\IN HEAT

No separate changelog this time. It’d be a bit long. Bug fixes and stuff ya know. The usual.

Fun Fact: This update contained 700 commits, which I’m sure will mean something to someone. That’s roughly 31% of the total commits for the game :)
